Emerging at a time in the late 70s when disco was dominating the charts, the band opted for a smoother style of r'n'b, releasing classics like Happy feelings and Lady of Magic. They were initially discovered by Marvin Gaye, who was a man who knew a thing or too about soulful jams. While never reaching the commerical heights of Gaye, Maze & Frankie Beverly's career has lasted for over forty years, with more than a few gold records along the way.
