A Magical Nutcracker For The Whole Family

Follow Clara as she journeys with her Nutcracker Prince into a magical world of talking mice, dancing dolls and lands made of sweets! Richmond Ballet Artistic Director Stoner Winslett's staging of The Nutcracker is full of whimsy, sparkling with dancing that delights, and vivid sets and costumes that transport the audience to the world of Clara's dreams. It's not just for kids, there's a magical Nutcracker moment for everyone!

The 2015 production saw a complete overhaul of the ballet, with new costumes, sets and characters to put a new spin on the age old tale. In addition, audiences welcomed the arrival of a brand-new Swan Sleigh in a nod to that other popular Tchaikovsky classic ballet.

Every year Richmond Ballet's The Nutcracker provides students of the School of Richmond Ballet with the opportunity to perform with the professional company. Richmond Ballet's The Nutcracker casts between 100 and 150 students, ages seven and older, in a variety of roles. Together with the principal dancers, they'll evoke the enchanting story and make it a festive night to remember.
